Beyond Baixa, Walter Rossa

The book "Beyond Baixa. Signs of urban planning in eighteenth century Lisbon" presents the Lisbon urban plannning of Marquês de Pombal as an outcome of the urban reforms from the previous reign, with background in the sixteenth century. Walter Rossa highlights the methodology and the urban roles of several buildings in the city and also the role of figures from the Portuguese School of Architecture and Urbanism, such as Manuel da Maia and Carlos Mardel.
