What does it mean to portray Lisbon today? In a city increasingly reduced to a staged image – poised between postcard aesthetics, real estate speculation, and a sanitising gaze – where the everyday life is fading, Lisboa Mesma Outra Cidade sketches out a different map. This second volume brings together seven photographic essays and three literary chronicles that compose a fragmented, close-range, and intimate portrait of the city. Rather than define what Lisbon is, the book invites a multiplicity of ways to see, reflect on, and imagine the city – through those who walk it, observe it, and live within its folds.
